Cinema seats at home: Should HaloShort fill the screen?
The home cinema seats are in place, but vertical dramas leave blank space on the sides of the horizontal screen. Before filling the screen in HaloShort, check that the framing and subtitles are intact. Screen size and a video's original aspect ratio are different things.

Three methods, see clearly what each one changes
HaloShort offers display methods such as original, stretched, and cropped. When shown at original ratio, vertical content leaving side margins on a horizontal screen is very common; stretching may change character proportions; cropping may cut off the edges of the picture. No single option can only increase the filled area while guaranteeing all picture information is preserved as-is.
First compare using the same piece of content, and see whether characters are obviously distorted and whether subtitles are cut off. If key dialogue is missing a few words, or a character's action leaves the frame, then even if the screen is filled more fully, it may not suit this drama.
However many columns the seats are arranged in, check from that many positions
The arrangement of cinema-style seats takes front, back, and side sightlines into account, and a home viewing area can use this same approach for checking. Sit in the seats that people actually use, and read a segment of subtitles from the target episode; standing in front of the screen to check the menu cannot replace the viewing result from the back row.
The subtitle language itself also needs to be confirmed episode by episode. The display method can affect whether subtitles are fully shown, but it will not add translations that were not there to begin with. When the target episode lacks the needed language, switching content is more direct than constantly adjusting the crop.
Treat the screen at home as the actual basis for judgment
For a first installation, you can search for HaloShort from the Emotn store, and check the compatibility requirements for Android TV, Google TV, or the corresponding Android box. Try one episode first, then compare from each seat, and once confirmed, there is no need to keep changing settings.
Some stories look quite natural with the side margins kept. Arranging viewing seats at home is so everyone can understand the content together; there is no need for every short drama to fill every inch of the screen.
